Before the attack on Pearl Harbor and
America’s entry into the Pacific war, american pilots formed what is
known as the American Volunteer Group (AVG) to help the Chinese
defend against the hostile Japanese. Flying Curtiss P-40 Warhawks,
the group became known as the “Flying Tigers”.
