"Spring Thaw"
From a 24" x 36" Acrylic on Canvas
This painting depicts a P-47 "Razorback" Thunderbolt
finishing off a German Me109 fighter in winter of 1944.
Affectionately nicknamed the "Jug" because of it's portly shape, the
P-47 was one of the most famous Army Air Force fighter planes of WW
II. Its sturdy construction and air-cooled radial engine enabled the
Thunderbolt to absorb severe battle damage and keep flying.
