"Spring Thaw"
From a 24" x 36" Acrylic on Canvas

This painting depicts a P-47 "Razorback" Thunderbolt finishing off a German Me109 fighter in winter of 1944. Affectionately nicknamed the "Jug" because of it's portly shape, the P-47 was one of the most famous Army Air Force fighter planes of WW II. Its sturdy construction and air-cooled radial engine enabled the Thunderbolt to absorb severe battle damage and keep flying.

Original is Sold (sorry no prints)
