"How Many This Time?"
From a 24"x36" Acrylic on Canvas

A pair of Army Air Corps officers and a friend make an unofficial count of returning B-17 Flying Fortresses after a mission in Germany. The B-17 was constantly improved during the Second World War. Carrying a crew of ten, the bombers made harrowing daylight raids over Nazi Germany. Many did not return.
