"Fighter Cover"
From a 24" x 30" Acrylic on Canvas

Flying cover for a formation of allied heavy bombers, a pair of P-47 "Razorback" Thunderbolts break off in pursuit of enemy Me109 fighters. The problem was that the range of the heavy Thunderbolts was only about half of what was needed to escort the bombers all the way to targets in Germany. After the pilots would fly their maximum distance, they would have to turn back and watch as swarms of Nazi fighters jumped into the bomber formations.

Original is Sold (sorry no prints)
